My mom went home first week of this month because my Grandma passed away. We all wept silently and later on found peace in knowing that she is with the Lord. After Grandma's interment, my mom stayed here in Manila and spent time with me and my family. She was busy taking care of my Grandpa’s hospital check-ups but I appreciate her for finding time to bond with us. We truly enjoyed her company and I've observed that she hasn't changed! She is still very lively, always on the go and very hardworking. She wakes up early and prepares breakfast when it is I who should be doing that for her. She bought a lot of important things that Gerard needs. We ate a lot and went searching for the best tasting sisig here in Manila but unluckily, we didn't get to try Aling Lucing's sisig at SM malls. We also went to the beauty salon and health spa several times to pamper ourselves.
I really love the feeling of having her around and being able to sleep beside her at night. I love my mother so much and it was difficult for me to let her go back to the states wondering when I will be able to hug her again. I know that God has a wonderful plan for all of us and all I can do now is trust His heart. I know that someday, I’d be with my family in the states and I’ll be the one to take care of my parents when they grow old. I love them so much.
